Savory Sausage Pasta Bake for Family Feasts

This Sausage Pasta Bake combines savory sausage, gooey cheese, and al dente pasta, creating a hearty dish that's ideal for cozy family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g pasta rigatoni or penne
  • 300 g sausage Italian, spicy or mild
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 400 g canned tomatoes crushed
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 200 g mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta until al dente according to package instructions.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and sausage, breaking up the sausage with a wooden spoon.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and mix well, then combine with the cooked pasta.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and transfer the pasta and sausage mixture into a baking dish.
  7. Top the pasta with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan.
  8. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
